Image

Regarding... Harvey McDonald and “The Torment Trees”

Image
Ladies and gentlemen, here comes “The Torment Trees”, a short-film by Harvey McDonald. “The Torment Trees” is a 5-minute clip based on a popular Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale, starring Harvey McDonald, Jessica Jayne Harney and the voice of Rachel Eben. Some curiosities: it has been inspired by a scene from James Cameron’s Avatar and captures the audience' s attention thanks to a cliff hanger ending. After rolling it out at The Arches Project in Birmingham, the film is now available for those who didn't have the chance to watch it at the premiĆØre. Enjoy it! REGARDING HARVEY... The freedom to express my thoughts and feelings is one of the fundamental things I don’t feel I could live without and capturing that through the media of acting and film making is my passion.” He says about his experience at The Arch...

Antonio Fernandez www.antoniofernandez.co.uk My relationship with the arts started as a curiosity on how to paint, sculpt, draw and eventually it turned into an obsession of getting it right and now the arts has become a vehicle to express my ideas. When it comes to making art, my preferred medium is acrylic paint. My favourite artists at the moment are Naum Gabo and Gabriel Dawe. Aimee Mary Jordan www.facebook.com/AimeeMJordanart I was born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia before moving to Bucharest in Romania. My painting work relies on several processes and layering to attain the required playful and dream-like effects. My current practice is greatly affected by an obsession with natural forms and their oddities. I find most of my inspiration from the vast natural history museums as well as travelling and the collection of unusual and exotic animal bones. Although my work at the moment focuses on a very macabre subject matter I have chosen to use colou...
